The picture quality is MUCH better - tremendously sharper, and with better color balance. I use the quotes because technically the C920e is a downgrade from the C930e, but things have improved so much since I bought the old C930e that the current C920e indeed turned out to be an upgrade. I am loathe to replace something that isn't broken, but considering the number of hours I spend in video meetings each day - and that these meetings have largely replaced in-person time with my customers - I finally decided to "upgrade" to a camera with a standard field-of-view so I would look more normal on-screen.
I initially bought the C930e because of the wide angle lens, but quickly realized that 1) it just showed a bunch of distracting stuff in the background of my office, and 2) it slightly distorted everything, as wide angle lenses tend to do.
